Thailand Introduces Enhanced Medical Coverage Scheme for Tourists

In a bid to boost tourists’ confidence while visiting Thailand, the Thai government has launched a new medical coverage scheme. Here are the key details of the program:

Extensive Coverage:
1. Foreign tourists will now be provided with medical coverage of up to 500,000 baht in the event
of accidents occurring during their stay in Thailand.
2. For organ loss, loss of sight, or permanent disability, every individual will be eligible for coverage
of up to 300,000 baht.
3. In the unfortunate event of death, compensation of up to 1 million baht will be provided.

Objective of the Campaign:
1. The primary goal of this campaign is to bolster Thailand’s positive image as a preferred global
vacation destination.
2. To fund this initiative, the government has allocated 50 million baht from the emergency budget.

Coverage Period:
1. The scheme is applicable to foreign tourists traveling in Thailand between January 1 and August 31
of the current year.

Eligibility Criteria:
1. Tourists will not be eligible for coverage if a incident result from:

Carelessness
1. Intentional participation in illegal activities
2. Engaging in risky behavior

This initiative aims to provide peace of mind to travelers and further promote Thailand as a safe and welcoming destination for tourists.
